In Honor of Supreme President Dave Johnson

The Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary lost a devoted leader, mentor, and friend with the passing of our Supreme President, Dave Johnson. Dave led with heart, humor, and an unwavering love for the Cooties and the Veterans we serve. He believed deeply in the mission to Keep ’em Smilin’ in Beds of White.

Dave’s vision for the Auxiliary was clear. He wanted us to rediscover the joy in our work, to serve with purpose but never lose our sense of fun, and to strengthen the bond between the MOCA and the MOC by working side by side as one Cootie family. He reminded us that service does not have to be complicated to be powerful, simply has to be sincere.

While his time with us was far too short, his goals and spirit will continue to guide the remainder of the year. Together, we will complete this year in his honor by carrying forward what mattered most to him: meaningful service, strong partnerships, laughter along the way, and a renewed focus on unity.

As we move Into the Future, we do so with gratitude for Dave’s leadership and a commitment to honoring his legacy through our actions. The work continues, the mission remains strong, and Dave’s influence will always be part of who we are as Cooties.
