NEW WAYS TO EARN HOSPITAL CREDIT FOR MOC AUXILIARY
SUPREME HOSPITAL COMMISSIONER RUTH SCHOONOVER

Remember to use safety procedures at all times.  All the new hospital procedures are about hospitals or nursing homes.  Make sure you check with the hospital or nursing home to make sure that you can do the following:

  1. Calling on the phone—no more than 30 minutes at a time per patient so you don’t tire them out = report under visit hours.
  2. Participating in parades outside where patients can watch = report under visit hours.  Travel time and mileage can be counted.  Reasonable project hours for arranging.
  3. Projects made and delivered as requested by hospital or nursing home = report under project hours.  Member delivering can count travel time and mileage.
  4. Virtual visits—no more than 30 minutes per patient so you don’t tire them out = report under visit hours.
  5. Visiting patients through windows = report under visit hours. Travel time and mileage can be counted.
  6. Writing to patients = report reasonable project hours for writing.

I believe that all MOCA members are honest and will report correctly.  Remember to count patients for your reports.  Also remember to report monies spent.  If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.
